Escorts profiles: Why don’t men read them?

Ladies, today, I am going to give you some elements to help you answering a question that many escorts have been asking themselves again and again: “Why clients do not read my profile?”

You probably don’t know about it but, in my mid-twenties, I used to work as a content writer. I used to write online profiles for escorts. I’ve written hundreds of them. Many are still on the internet today and it is always funny to read my texts being copy-pasted and translated several times by different escorts, from different countries…

For those who don’t know it, writing as always been something I’ve enjoyed doing. As a French, it took me a while to improve my writing skills in English (which is still not perfect, sorry about that) but I had to do it because that’s the world communication language. As I had a lot of experience in writing in general and in writing for escort girls ‘profile in particular, I decided to do things differently when I launched this website (The Velvet Rooms) in 2018.

What many readers don’t know is that an escort’s profile written by a professional writer will always sounds different. And if that person is paid to do the work, the profile text will certainly be of an even higher standard.

Not everyone is able to write well. However, in an increasingly competitive industry where it's more and more difficult to stand out from the crowd and capture the attention of potential customers, being able to hold that attention with a targeted, authentic and original profile description has become indispensable.

Based on my experience, let’s try to understand why men do not even bothered reading an escort profile before calling or texting a sex worker.

The overwhelming majority of escorts profiles content on the internet is fake

I was provided two information when a profile request came through: a name and a photo. That’s it. I had to craft a unique background for that escort that somehow, it doesn’t feel the same as the several others I had written in the past. That’s when I had to become really creative… But how can you write a customized text with so little information provided? The problem is this: the majority of escort profiles are not written by the girls themselves, and there's almost always a gap between the profile text and what the girl has to offer (in terms of service, personality, physical appearance).

Either the profile is too well written for the girl's standing, or it's too badly written (vulgar) for the image the girl gives off. When the profile is too well written, it's either been written by a professional content writer or by artificial intelligence, or it's been plagiarized from another profile. When the profile is written with a vulgar, demeaning and misogynistic vocabulary, it's usually written by a man, often a pimp.

Profiles written by the girls themselves can be hard to recognize. Although marginal, some make the effort to write a few lines themselves. The description of these profiles is generally more sincere, more empathetic, the text isn't perfect, but it has more authenticity. Over time, I've learned to recognize these texts, which are rather short, don't go into too much detail, use emoji and are rarely vulgar (no matter what kind of service the girl offers).

As for those who don't bother to write anything in their description, they don't project a positive or professional image of themselves.  No wonder they attract a certain type of profile, often timewasters.

Pictures may be real…or not

So, the majority of profiles were fake, but how about the pictures? I would say that back then (prior 2017) they were real… as I mainly wrote for independent escorts. I assumed they were not using fake pictures in their profile but well…hard to tell. Why do I think that the pictures were real? Because using fake pictures would have run them off reputation, especially in major big cities. Fake pictures lead to complaints and bad reviews which can affect their earnings and their career. So I assume that most of the girls I wrote profiles for, worked with they own pictures.

Of course, I had to sign a non-disclosure agreement saying I wouldn’t share images (because, again, all I would receive was a name and a photo).

Why clients tend not to read the profile of your ad ?

As a general rule, when man is still "new" to using the services of an escort, he will take the time to read and get informed because he wants to do things right. What he doesn’t know at that point is that a huge part of profiles of escorts on the internet is fake (fake descriptions or fake photos, or both). The chances of him stumbling across a real profile are very slim. So he's definitely going to try, over and over again and at some point, with some luck, he will stumble across a girl who looks like in her photos and seems to be as interesting as her profile describes. But it's very rare. So, by dint of being disappointed, men no longer read a profile of an escort because they no longer believe what is written in that ad (for most of them, all escorts are the same anyway…). The vast majority only looks at the photos (hoping that they are real) and calls because anyway, these men no longer believe what is written.

Why escorts profiles on reputable websites are different?

When I started The Velvet Rooms (TVR), it was very important to me to make it a very transparent website ... as trustworthy as possible. I wanted to talk about things that were often taboo, share with the whole world an introspective vision of this industry, the real reality and not that of the media, which is often too biased, too judgmental, too victimized.

One of the things that was close to my heart was to "humanize" the website as much as possible with particular emphasis on the content of escort profiles, which by the way, are all written by the girls themselves.

No false descriptions on The Velvet Rooms, no fake profiles because it goes against our common goal: to build a loyal clientele, men who will feel good in our company and who will always want to come back to us.

Escorts profiles: Why is it important to have clients read them?

Ladies, the world is changing and the sex industry too. Years ago, clients were not demanding and could spend a lot of money just to be able to “relief” themselves. Today, clients are still willing to pay but they need to make sure that “What they see is what they get”. This is why, real pictures (see the Velvet-Label) along with an appealing and an authentic description of yourself can be a game changer. Especially if you are targeting intelligent and wealthy men from higher social classes. Indeed, “cheap men” don’t read an escort’s profile.

But these men willing to spend a few hours in your company will carefully read your profile before giving you a call. It’s important to have clients reading your escort profile because it is a tool that can be used to help you make a first pre-selection the type of clients you want and keep away those guys you do not want to meet.

Therefore, it is worth putting the effort to craft a great profile for yourself, a profile with a great description that will showcase your unique features and what you have to offer as an escort. This way, you are also helping the good clients to find you because they will be attracted to what they read and would want to reach out to you for an appointment (and at the same time this also saves them energy, time and money because they would have immediately found the right Escort-Girl for them).

Finally, make sure that when the client eventually contacts you, the way you speak and the way you behave is not too far from what a potential client read in your profile, otherwise you can be sure that he will never consider visiting you.
