Independent escorts in Switzerland: Where to work in Zürich?

 

You're an independent escort and you'd like to come and work in Zurich but you're hesitating because you don't know the city? Not only does a trip like this need to be planned, but it's also vital not to choose the wrong area, as every city is made up of good neighborhoods and less reputable places.

Hotel or apartment?

Good question! Well, it all depends on the length of your stay. I'd say that if you're staying between 1 and 3 days maximum, you can go for a hotel. Make sure you pick the right one, based on comments and feedback from people who have already stayed there. Choose larger hotels, avoid those that require a key/card to access the elevator and, above all, bring (from home) some extra sheets and towels in case the housekeeper is a little reluctant to provide you with additional linen.

Get yourself an apartment if you plan to stay for more than 3 days. Not only will you feel more comfortable and less cramped than in a hotel room, but it's also more discreet. Indeed, 3 days in a hotel room working as an escort without anyone noticing is feasible. On the other hand, a week is starting to sound like a lot... So, under these circumstances, an apartment seems like a wiser choice. What's more, it's also more practical for doing laundry or saving on food, because in theory, you can cook there (which isn't usually the case in a hotel room). Apart-hotels are another alternative but give priority to those that allow self-check-in (as they don't usually have a person physically present at reception).

 

Where to work in Zurich?

Unlike many large international cities, Zurich is a clean, wealthy, and safe city, where prostitution is 100% legal and regulated. Compared to other major cities around the world, Zurich has no "dangerous" neighborhoods per se, but as everywhere, there are places that are more recommendable than others. Below, a short guide divided into three parts: the best neighborhoods, the good alternatives and, finally, the neighborhoods less suitable for independent escort work. Please note that this is not a list of Zurich's best neighborhoods in which to live, work and/or study! For that, "Uncle Google" will undoubtedly be able to tell you more than I can. These recommendations are specific to working as an independent escort in Switzerland, and more specifically in Zurich. By this I mean that a good neighborhood to live in is not necessarily an ideal neighborhood to work in as an independent escort. Zurich comprises a total of 12 districts (also called “Kreis”), and here's their breakdown according to the subject we're interested in in this article:

 

The best districts

At the top of the list, you'll find Zurich's 1st (8001), 2nd (8002) and 8th (8008) districts, all very popular areas. The 1st district is the very touristy city center, just a stone's throw from Zurich station. On Sundays, it's one of the few places in Zurich where you can find plenty of open stores. The 8th district is one of Zurich's most exclusive neighborhoods (the best for some) and is highly sought-after by almost all Zurich residents. Seefeld has an excellent reputation both on weekdays and weekends. In the 2nd district are the Enge and Wollishofen neighborhoods, which I also recommend. On the other hand, districts 1,2 and 8 are very expensive areas, so you'll need to set aside a substantial budget for renting an apartment there.

 

The good alternatives

There are plenty of good alternatives! The Wiedikon district, located in the 3rd arrondissement (8003), has a young, popular population and is discreet enough to work as an independent escort in Zurich.  The 5th district (8005) is the city's creative, cultural, and trendy district. It's also very diverse, with all kinds of residents (young, not so young, couples, singles, hipsters...), so as an escort you'll find it easy to go incognito... The 6th (8006) can also be a good choice, provided you make sure you don't end up on a street that's too residential, as it's a rather quiet, family-friendly district, even though it's close to the center. Altstetten and Albisrieden, both in the 9th district (8048 and 8047), are affordable neighborhoods relatively close to the city center. Finally, the 10th district (8049), which includes Wipkingen and Höngg, is adjacent to the 5th district and is also a good alternative for renting an apartment and working as a freelance escort in Zurich.

 

The less suitable districts

Zurich's 7th district (Fluntern, Hottingen, Hirslanden and Witikon) is certainly the most luxurious and has a remarkable quality of life, which is also why prices here are exorbitant. For independent escorts, I wouldn't recommend working in this area for two main reasons. The first is that it's far too residential, so even if you're very discreet, people can find out what you're doing, and chances are you'll be asked to stop or leave. The second is that just because you're staying in the most expensive part of town doesn't mean your week will be any more lucrative. In fact, there's no cause and effect. So, you might as well go for a more affordable rent that stay within a reasonable budget bracket. As an independent escort, it's important to make well-considered choices. Remember that not everyone who drives a Porsche is rich, and not everyone who drives a Fiat 500 is poor... 

Although the 4th district (8004) has recently undergone enormous gentrification, it wouldn't be my preferred choice as the area is notorious for street prostitution.  The 11th district (Oerlikon, Seebach, Affoltern) isn't too bad, but based on my experience, it's preferable to opt for the border district (which isn't part of the city of Zurich but is only a 5min drive from Zurich airport) where the girls seem to work much better: Opfikon-Glattbrugg. As for the 12th district (Schwammendigen), few independent escorts in Zurich choose to work there. I'd therefore advise you to consider other areas.

 

And outside Zürich City?

In Canton Zürich, it's not just in Zürich City that you can work well as an independent escort. Other cities are also well worth the effort exploring, and sometimes can turn to be even better than downtown Zürich (where some clients don't particularly like to go because of the traffic density or the difficulty to park). These cities include: Opfikon-Glattbrugg, Kloten (both a 5-minute drive from Zurich airport), towns on the Gold Coast (which includes Zollikon, Küsnacht, Erlenbach, Herrliberg, Meilen, Uetikon am See, Männedorf and Stäfa), the towns on the other side of Lake Zurich (Thalwil, Horgen, Wädenswil, Richterswil) and, finally, the city of Winterthur, the second-largest city in Canton Zürich.

 

And above all, don't think that if your apartment isn't located in downtown Zürich, customers won't come to see you. That's simply not true. The most important thing is that it's well served by public transport and/or that there's easy parking nearby. Of course, don't underestimate the importance of a discreet, clean, and private apartment (that you don't share with anyone). For clients who only go to independent escorts, this makes all the difference.
