The 5 most popular beliefs about the Escort profession

You think you know the Escort business? Many of you wrongly think that it is an easy job, where money is earned quickly, effortlessly and that all women who sell their bodies choose this path because they have no other alternative.

Well, let me tell you that you're wrong!

Over the years and experiences, Escorts have learned how to deal with sexuality, psychology and social relationships. Their work is a mix of customer service and fantasizing. A large majority do it by choice and love and assume it. Being an Escort also provides them with a stable financial situation and contributes to the financing of projects (or lifestyles) that were not feasible until then.

To better inform the public about sex work, here are the 5 biggest preconceived ideas which surround this profession :

1- Sex work is easy! Prostitutes are lazy... 

For many reasons I can say that this is not an easy job. Escorts work between 12 and 14 hours a day (sometimes even longer). They often spend an enormous amount of time finding a decent and appropriate place to receive their clients in privacy.  Some are very active on social media and manage several accounts, answer their emails and text messages, publish and manage their advertising on different specialized sites, plan and prepare appointments with their customers, some even write articles... When an appointment is confirmed, they need on average between 30 minutes and 1 hour to get ready before their client arrives. Many of them spend a lot of time and money maintaining their bodies shape. In their daily work, the "girls of joy" do both physical and emotional work. They know how to listen to their clients' confessions and make sure to please them, and have them get what they want.

2- Escorts spread diseases and infections

It is precisely because their body is their working tool that they cannot afford to put it in danger. Escorts pay twice as much attention to their health as women on average. A decent escort only offers safe intercourse. She also visits the gynecologist 2 to 4 times a year and regularly carries out screening tests. Her health is of paramount importance: if she is not in good shape, she cannot pay the bills and provide for herself and her family. Furthermore, neglecting her health would put her clients and reputation at risk. It would cost her job.

3- Only weird people, losers and desperate men will see the Escorts

You would be surprised by the diversity of people who see Escorts. Middle-aged couples who want to stimulate their love and sex lives, young soldiers who like to relax in good company during their service, lawyers, doctors, disabled men who want special relationships with someone... The work of Escort girls sometimes has a more therapeutic component but everything is always done with respect for the other. Escorts' customers treat them with respect. The ladies are gentle with the gentlemen, just as much as the guests are with them.

4- Sex workers hate their jobs
